Privacy

This is a personal blog. It does not sell anything, does not run ads, does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and does not have user accounts or a mailing list. The sections below describe everything that does collect data.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data — including your IP address, user agent, and the page requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This is handled by Cloudflare under their own privacy policy.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which posts get read. It is enabled at the Cloudflare dashboard level rather than through a script in the site's source. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track people across sites. The data reported back is aggregate: page paths, referrers, browser and country totals. It is not tied to individuals and I cannot identify a visitor from it.

Comments

Blog posts may include a comment section powered by giscus, which stores comments as GitHub Discussions. When the comment widget is present, your browser loads content from giscus.app and GitHub, which means those services receive your IP address and standard request data. Posting a comment requires signing in with GitHub and authorizing the giscus app; your comment, GitHub username, and avatar become publicly visible on GitHub. Comments are covered by GitHub's privacy policy, not this one. If you would rather not involve GitHub, email instead.

Search

Site search is powered by Pagefind, which runs entirely in your browser against a static index. Search queries are never sent to a server and I never see them.

Local storage

If you change the light/dark theme, the site saves a singletheme value in your browser's local storage so your choice persists between visits. It is not a cookie, is never sent to a server, and contains nothing that identifies you. Clearing site data removes it.

Your data

I do not hold a database of visitors, so in most cases there is nothing of yours for me to retrieve or delete. For comments, GitHub is the data controller and you can edit or delete your own comments there at any time. For anything else, email [email protected] and I will do what I reasonably can.

Changes

If this site starts collecting something new, this page changes with it. Last updated July 29, 2026.
