This site publishes SQL, PowerShell, and shell scripts that change how database servers behave — shrinking files, altering configuration, dropping indexes, moving data. They are examples written for a specific situation, not turnkey production code.

Everything here is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, and without any guarantee that it is correct or appropriate for your environment. Read anything you copy, understand what it does, and test it somewhere that is not production first. Have a restorable backup before you run something that writes. You are responsible for what you run on your own systems; I am not liable for any loss or damage that results.

Writing

Posts, articles, and images on this site are licensed under CC BY 4.0. You are free to share and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you give credit and link back to the original post.

Code samples

Code snippets within posts are dedicated to the public domain under CC0. Use them however you like; attribution is welcome but not required. Snippets that are clearly attributed to someone else in the post — for example Glenn Berry's diagnostic queries, or code from dbatools — belong to their original authors and carry their own licenses.

Site source

The source code for the site itself is separate from its content and is released under the MIT license. The site is built on the Astro Micro theme.
